Racial Health Equity Conference Series: Bias in Healthcare

Bias may unconsciously influence the way information about an individual or group is processed, which can result in unintended disparities and have a real impact for patients and healthcare systems.

On November 17th the  Jacksonville Nonprofit Hospital Partnership brings together speakers whom will discuss the roles of unconscious and implicit bias in healthcare as well as actions can take and tools we can use to recognize and overcome it.

The Jacksonville Nonprofit Hospital Partnership has developed a racial health equity conference series. The series, monthly public conferences, is designed to enhance awareness and understanding of factors negatively impacting healthcare for members racial and ethnic minorities in our community. In light of recent national and regional events and health trends in our community, the partnership believes it is more important than ever to look at ways diverse communities can overcome healthcare barriers, enhanced quality of life and bring health equity.
